The First Indian Comic Con took place on 19th and 20th of February in Delhi.
India had a steadily growing comics fan community and now they have a place to meetup every year. Apparently 15000 people have attended this carnival and guess what there was a costume event too!

Since the 60's India had two Comic book publishers: AmarchitraKatha and Diamond Comics who created content on Hindu Mythology and stuff but after the 90's the industry steadily declined due to the advent of animated T.V shows. But after a long time Indians have started taking interest in graphic novels and fantasy novels. I think there will be a rapid increase in the comic book industry and hope to see some awesome Indian superheroes kicking super-villains. But sadly Anant Pai, the creator of Amar Chitra Katha passed away on 24th of Feb.
